Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miglena Molhova-Vladova has been working at the University of National and World Economy since 2001. She obtained her PhD in 2008 in the scientific specialty “Economics, Organization and Management”, with topic of her dissertation “Intellectual Property in Electronic Business and Strategies for Its Management”. She was elected as an associate professor in 2022 in the professional field 3.8. “Economics”, with the scientific specialty “Economics and Management (Software Technologies, Innovation and Patent and Licensing Activities)”.
Her academic career began as an assistant professor in the Department of “Intellectual Property”, where she was a lecturer in the disciplines “Intellectual Property”, “Patent Policy”, “Licensing”, “Intellectual Property Research for Business Purposes”.
Since 2018 and currently, she is a member of the Department of “Industrial Business” at the Faculty of Business of the UNWE. The subjects she lectures on are: “Patent-innovation research”, “Patent analysis and strategies”, “Software technology management”, “Software licensing”, “Knowledge management”, “Technology management”, “Cross-industry innovations and cross-industry business models”, “Smart economy”, “Digital business”.
She successfully completed additional qualification courses at the World Intellectual Property Organization (“General course on intellectual property”, “Patent drafting”, “Intellectual property in business”).
She has over 50 publications in the field of intellectual property, innovation and technology management, IP protection and management of software technologies, digital business, development of the software industry, information asymmetry as an economic phenomenon. She is the author of the textbook “Electronic Business” (2009), and co-authored with colleagues from the Department of Industrial Business of the textbooks “Economics of the Enterprise”, publications for bachelor’s degree students in full-time (2023) and distance learning (2024). Assoc. Prof. Molhova is the author of the monograph “Software Industry. Software Licensing” (2021), and co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Dr. R. Brestnichka and Senior Assoc. Prof. Dr. F. Koleva and the monograph “International Encyclopedia of Intellectual Property Laws: Bulgaria” (2015, current edition 2024).
She has worked on over 20 European projects in various fields – education, ICT, media, including software applications for specific purposes. It is a member of the European Network of Intellectual Property Educators and the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in the Field of Intellectual Property, as well as the Association of Professors of Economics and Management in Industry.
